This company is called West Fraser. Lumber companies like this one are often said to be "destroyers of habitats". People shouldn't say anything about lumber companies if they don't know the good that they do.
All of the companies that we have listed so far all have one thing in common. They have all harmed the environment in some sort of way and because of that people tune out the good things that these companies do which I find really ignorant of them. When people take it as far as saying something against them without realizing their positive affects, that annoys me. I think that they are honestly just jealous of big corporations and even the position that the government has over them so they complain about things like taxes or the environment. I understand how taxes can seem unfair but they make society function. Without them, buildings would weaken, structures would crumble, medical help wouldn't be nearly as safe as it is now.... The same goes for these companies. Risks are apart of life. These companies take these risks and sometimes there are consequences. Without these risks, you wouldn't be able to get things that you might take for granted. I also realize that there are alternative ways for these companies but they aren't as efficient and they are very costly.

These pictures are of a company called British Petroleum. Who ever created them is clearly for environmentalism and against use of oil transportation and use of oil. They are often criticized for an oil spill that happened in the gulf of mexico on April 20th - July 15th, 2010. This spill reeked havoc on the ecosystem. Reportedly, 4.9 million gallons of oil poured out into the gulf[1]. They did acknowledge that it was their fault and they have been working for 3 years, and will continue to work on restoring the golf to the way it was before the incident.

They do care about the environment as they show on their own website. People that criticize companies like this have no right to for that reason. If you want the habitat to be restored faster, then donate money. That's all that you can do. Sure if the incident never happened then the habitat would be fine but it's an accident, things happen.

There are also companies that are misjudged like the government. This is a mining company called BHB Billiton and they are giving back to the environment. They understand the consequences of mining and take care of the environment too. Imagine life without ores or metals because I know that I can't. Society is based around technology and relies on it. without metals, how would you make things that people take for granted like phones. Technology would be gone and yet people still criticize mining companies.
I am sure that most people have been to a hospital before. Whether it's a broken arm, an illness, surgery... it costs money. That money comes from some of your taxes, as you probably know. Next time you think about taxes, one of the things that you should remember is that taxes take care of you. You alone probably can't afford the technology and research to fix a fractured bone or cure a disease, the government can with taxes. What would you do if a virus like H1N1 broke out? How would you find a cure? You most likely won't. The F.D.A. (Food and Drug Administration) Is made for you by the government.

Shell (the gas company) that wants to conserve land to help make homes for animals while allowing visitors to enjoy the land and go hiking, birdwatching, camping etc. Is that so bad? Those of you who demonize these companies should also look at the good that they do. Yes, oil transportation comes with risks but it is essential for most vehicles. If you want to complain about these companies then don't drive a car, go on a train, fly on a plane, or use any means of transportation that requires oil or gas, then and only then can you criticize them.
